Course Design
The 4 hour adventure race is designed for newer or family teams looking to learn about the sport of adventure racing and challenge themselves in a beautiful environment. The navigation is designed to be easy to understand and traverse interesting landmarks on each discipline. The paddling will minimize crossing large bodies of water.
The 12 hour race is for more seasoned competitors with challenging navigation demanding strategic route choices. Many locations will be remote and difficult to get to but will have rarely seen and unique features and wildlife.
Everyone on the team needs to be present at check-in to receive maps and race instructions. Please read the following information about waivers, rules, and gear to be thoroughly prepared.
Waivers
Please download and fill out the Off the Grid Racing Liability Waiver form for each team member before arriving at check-in on race day. This will allow the process to go more smoothly and get everyone their maps and passports quickly so everyone has more time to prepare before race start.
Rules
Please download and review the Off the Grid Racing Rules List. A printed copy of this rules list is mandatory gear for each team racing.
Gear
Off the Grid Racing will provide all canoes, paddles, and PFDs. Teams are permitted to bring their own paddle gear. A teams paddle gear must be stored in a paddle bag, secured together, and well marked for easy retrieval. Please be aware that there may be times that teams using their own paddle gear will be required to transport that gear themselves. This will be indicated in the race instructions.
